Hi there! I'm Debbie, and I'm passionate about helping ecommerce brands grow their revenue, retain and attract customers with powerful marketing strategies.
I have been a marketing leader for over two decades, and I've been on the leading edge of technology since co-founding the first social media storytelling company in Canada in 2008. My tenure has given me in-depth understanding of every type of marketing, and I've seen all the trends and data that shape what works.
That's why I founded dc digital x - to help ecommerce brands understand which strategies will work best for them and deliver amazing results. I combine heart and performance to help brands create successful marketing campaigns that will deliver real results.

Which tools do you regularly use (Klaviyo, SMS, WhatsApp, Meta advertising, etc.)? Which one of these is your favourite and why?

We use the power of Klaviyo to create highly converting email strategies. We blend the art of storytelling with the science of shopping behaviour to increase conversions and build long-lasting loyal customers. We use quizzes to gamify brands, this educates the customer but also keeps them engaged.
And my favorite is video impression tool! It's highly engaging with your brand, and provides fun tips and tricks all about the product, helping customers navigate the site with ease.
What was your favourite ecommerce project you worked on recently?
After months of dedication, a wellness brand we worked with was able to improve the performance of their ecommerce store.
A thorough audit of the website revealed areas of opportunity and the website was given a facelift to create a customer journey that made them feel special. The website was optimized and new high conversion practices were implemented throughout to maximize success.
To build out ecommerce sales quickly, a comprehensive strategy was needed. The brand had a solid email list, but it was tired and outdated. To ensure a trusted ecommerce experience, a sophisticated ESP was needed to handle the customer journey communication.
Klaviyo was integrated with the new Shopify store, and essential automated email flows with incentives and storytelling were created. A lead magnet strategy was also employed so as to clean the list and target only converted customers.
The results were tremendous, with 65% growth from email marketing, 22% list growth from lead magnet strategy and ecommerce grew 20% more than projected. This was a huge win for the brand and a testament to the hard work put into the strategy.
Which ecommerce messaging trends do you think will emerge in 2023?
Email marketing to nurture the customer relationship should be top of mind! I really believe brands should focus more on their owned media (website, email, SMS, chat).
In my experience, owned media doesn't get the attention it deserves, whereas rented media (aka digital ads, social media, influencers) get all the resources but those are the platforms we don't have control over.
We need all the tools in our toolbox but owned media needs your extra love. If you don't nurture and grow your email list then you can't grow your business.
